Merty Energy and Beron Limited are pleased to announce the third successfull well in Northern Thrace Basin.

 

Merty Energy, together with joint venture partners Edirne Energy, Pemi Ltd and Petrako Ltd have accomplished a successfull drilling operation in Edirne Licence.

 

Drilling of Koyustu-1 exploration well was completed at a  depth of 617m and wireline logs have been aquired and number of interpreted  gas charged sands with good porosity and permeability have been encountered within Danismen and Osmancık sandstones and the decision by the joint venture companies was made to complete the well by running casing in advance of a production testing program. In addition to the 2 wells drilled last year, Bati Umur-1 and Arpaci-1, this third well proved the economical gas reserve in Edirne Licence.  Joint venture companies are planning to drill 2 new wells in the following months and to establish a gas production plant in the area.
