DISCOVERY in ALAŞEHİR BASIN/TURKEY

Sarkız-2 well, Drilled in Alaşehir basin of Western Turkey, was started to drill at 31st of October and finished at 13th of December in 2008 with a 1843m TD,ended up with the discovery of 34API oil.
It is planned to start the production test on March 2009 in Sarıkız-2 well which is going to produce oil from different levels.
These tests will be in progress by Merty’s new rig. It is estimated that the reservoir of the producible oil is minimum 10 million barrels and it is prognosed the gravity of the oil is between 31-37 API.
8 wells are going to be drilled to detect the reservoir of the area.
This well proves that Aegean Region has producible oil and this is one of the important specialities of this well.
